Today was the anniversary of your funeral. A year has passed. I remember standing there telling our friends and family why you were so special and listening to thought of others and sharing their memories. You were so loved, you still are my darling. You are with me in my heart every day, I try and think what you would say or do when I am worried or upset. You were always the voice of common sense, of comfort in a storm and I miss that so so much. You will never be forgotten my love. xxx

A whole year without you by my side. I'm only half a person since you left. I miss sharing things with you so very much. You will always be the biggest part of me. Thank you for the wonderful years we shared my darling. I just wish with all my heart there could have been more. I love you. I always will. xxx

Thinking of you today. The girls went to Shoreham Airport to watch the planes and feel close to you. Not sure why I should find father's day tough but then every day is tough without you my love. I love you always. x

I've been spending your birthday weekend with Carol and Wayne, raising a glass and remembering things we did or said. Sophie gave me a birthday present for you today. She said she saw it and thought that she would buy it for your birthday as she knew you would like it and it seemed right to buy it as she knew I would like it too. Its a book about how to be more like Paddington Bear subtitled A Book of Kindness. You would have loved it I know. Kindness was deep within you and many benefited from that. Happy Birthday my darling boy. You will never be forgotten, you will always be loved. xx

I know you closely followed Mark Cavendish's 'come back' TdF last year and when his record wasn't broken you told me "There would always be next year",which made me sad knowing you wouldnt be with us then. The headline I saw this morning "No Tour de France record for Mark Cavendish in 2022" made me think of you. I'll watch the rest of his career with you in my thoughts xxx

It would have been 17 years married today my love and I wish with all my heart that I could celebrate our special day with you. When we stood on that beach and fed each other rum cake and laughed I never thought that there would be a time when we wouldn't be together. You are with me always, part of me and I love you now as much as I did then. xxx

I still can’t get my head around all this and how sad I feel about you not being here and how sad you were at the end. I try my hardest to carry on and give the girls the best I can but sometimes I just can’t and just feel heartbroken. Miss you so much xx

I received the following text on 24th October 2021 from the warrant officer at RAF Leeming where Paul was an Air Traffic Assistant. I thought I should transcribe it onto this page to remind me and others how well thought of he was: Hello Karen. I hope everything went as well as could be expected on Friday (day of Paul's funeral). I have today made a donation to Macmillan on behalf of the Squadron in memory of Paul. I'm sure it willgo a little way to support the excellent work they do at the most crucial of times.

Paul was a true Gentleman and a gentle person, who I was delighted to call friend. Sorely missed, taken far too soon. Tim

Tomorrow I will say my last goodbye to Paul. But in my memories there will never be a goodbye. His smile, his gentleness and his kindness will stay with me forever. 💙

Paul wa a truly lovely man - one of the best!!! He was kind, thoughtful and had a great sense of humour (or at least pretended to find my jokes amusing) proving he was a true gentleman ! I will miss his gentle manner and his smile 😘.

We will miss Paul’s warm and gentle, softly-spoken presence in our home, always such a welcome visitor with his beloved Karen - so many happy gatherings to remember. In our thoughts at this sad time, Peter and Marion RIchards
